Mary, Brian, Jules, Matt and Marie,
We love all of you and are blessed to be part of your lives. A friendship that began 13 years was meant to be--for this year--for our girls. We feel very fortunate to have been able to be part of Marie's life. So beautiful, so perfect. My heart is so full yet I can't find the words to say--but you know. You may be physically separated from Marie for now but she's not far and you'll all be together again someday. My favorite poem reminds me of that.

Ascension
And if I go, while you're still here...
Know that I live on,
vibrating to a different measure
--behind a thin veil you cannot see through.
You will not see me,
so you must have faith.
I wait for the time when we can soar together again,
--both aware of each other.
Until then, live your life to its fullest.
And when you need me,
Just whisper my name in your heart,
...I will be there.
By Colleen Corah Hitchcock

All our love,
Kristen, Corey, Kara, Emiy and Amanda

The email I sent last Sunday night to all those who prayed for Baby Marie’s miracle cure read as follows: “The angels of God came down to earth at around noon today to carry Baby Marie up to heaven where she was greeted with open arms by Jesus and His Mother, Mary. She is no longer suffering and finally at peace.”

Baby Marie was such a beautiful baby, an angel on earth. She had soft pink skin with a perfect little round head with lots of dark hair on it. I loved her little pug nose, long fingers, rosebud lips, and tiny little ears. When I kissed her head, it felt like satin on my lips – with a wonderful “baby” scent.

Baby Marie had to be the luckiest baby on earth to be born to such loving, caring parents and grandparents. Mary Theresa and Brian were relentless in showing Baby Marie how much they loved and cherished her, keeping her comfortable and cozy, while still protecting her big sister and brother, Julia and Matthew, from the inevitable loss they were destined to experience.

Friends, family, colleagues, and strangers throughout the United States and all the way to Italy prayed tirelessly to Jesus for a miracle cure for Baby Marie. Unfortunately, His response was “no,” and I truly believe the reason was that Jesus could see just how precious Baby Marie is and wanted her closer -- so that He and His mother could love and hold her in their arms in Heaven.

We all must be patient and good so that we can be with Baby Marie again someday.
